Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds will perform at Gathering of the Vibes as part of their first major US tour. Other stops include Camp Jam, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and the Bastille Days Festival in Milwaukee. The tour will close out at the Bear Creek Music Festival in Live Oak, Fl., in November, where the band will share the stage with national acts like Medeski Martin & Wood.

In the last six months alone, SSDB have played moe.down. Sat in with Mike Gordon. They’ve packed the Highline Ballroom with Rubblebucket and headlined the Oneonta Theater. They’ve supported the Radiators, co-headlined with Orgone and supported Dr. John and separately Rebirth at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City. And now they’re off to spread the word about the Dirty Birds across the country this summer and into the fall.
